    Runs too rich

My car is only getting 12 mpg it's pathetic? And if I run the rpms over 4 grand it spits a big black cloud. Any ideas?

coolant temp sensor maybe? It may be causing the computer to think it needs the cold start injection on all the time

there is a coolant temp sensor and a thermo time switch at the front of the head. they are both 2 prong sensors. the thermo time switch is the larger brown one which controls cold start injection (not cheap to replace). pick up a bentley it will tell you how to test them.
        #4 is thermo time switch
        #6 coolant temp sensor
#8 temp sender (tells the gauge how hot the coolant is)
