e12 head

hey, i was wondering what exactly an e12 head for an m10 is? is it the head bmw put on the e12 518i? how much of a performance upgrade are they over a normal head? what's different about them if anything? i've heard they're hard to find, how hard to find? where can i find one? how much is one in good condition?

the e12 head has a smaller combustion chamber making a little more compression and little more power but i dont think eneugh to justify buying one there are a couple on ebay ranging from 75 to 350 bucks.
