    1984 318i Minimum wiring

Racing a 318i M10 on Dirt this year.

I have most of the front wiring cutback to the fuse box (Lights and acc.)
I have all of sensors left in place, Could anyone PM me wich sensors where do what. (I was a former mechanic, I know the coolant temp sensor reads coolant temp, I am not sure wich is for a guage, the ecm, the idiot light ect. )
Just need to run the Injectors and fire the ignition and charging systems.
Plan on running the starting and fuel systems on a indepent system. Need to find an oilport for a pressure switch on the fuel system.

    Thx

It is kinda, The suspension is so rusty and old it is all bound up, not to mention the left side subframe is COMPLETLY ROTTED AWAY. We are putting in some new channel steel to tie the car together to the cage then into the front to tie in the strut towers. but the total weight was correct. as it stands I will need to put about 500 lbs of lead in the trunk to meet the min weight after the feature race.

These pics are of course, MID tear down, the weight was when the doors (fully gutted) roof, fenders, hood, bumpers, trunk lid were all still on it. the seat, fuel cell and other safety gear was also in the car as well. we pulled it all out, then started cutting away the rusty sections. we are now putting in new channel peices to tie what was left of the subframes together and then tie the cage to the subframes. also will be putting some front bars threw the firewall to the strut towers then down to the front horns, maybe put some cross bracing infront of the rad.
weight should be about 1500 lbs when its all ready for my chubby butt and some lead in the trunk to make the min weight rule.

$$$$$ plus the cage was already in this one and it was stripped. When you think of what I will be doing with this car, putting in the sheet metal patches and tieing the subframes together is something that should be done anyway. If you want to donate a car, I am more then willing to acept it. But there is also a lot of rules it needs to fall in under in order to be legal at the track I am racing at.
And if i didnt resurect this car, it would be made into soup cans by now. For the rusty sections that have been cut out, was almost 75lbs. I cant wait to show some pics of how it will look in 6 weeks. all primed painted and track ready.

Plus being from california, Im surprised you have ever seen ANY rust, unless you left your car in the ocean for 5 months. there is SOOOO much salt used up here in the winter, You wont find any car that has little or no rust unless it was winter stored.

Ok now it makes sense why it weights what it does lol

it was 1339 BEFORE all that stuff I listed came off, as it is right now with just the shell and the cage, its about 600 lbs ( I didnt put it back on the scales yet)
When we are done reinforcing, it will be aprox 1400-1600 lbs.

It is just a track car, so I never need any interior stuff or even to have the body panels with all there structure, they are totally stripped and gutted to nothing but a peice of sheet metal.

To Jean: Im open to ideas on how to improve the low end torque and any info you can sugest for the 1.8 to make even a few more ponies, Already ditched the P/S and Clutch fan.
