    M10 with 3.73 diff?

I searched and found a lot of nothing..

Will an M10 feel really slow with a 3.73 LSD? I have a 3.91 open and I am wondering if I should swap them. Is the 3.73 too low?

Nope. Just make sure your turbo is functional.

I would rather have a 3.73 LSD than an open 3.91. Its a pretty small change, but it will be slower. What you want is a 4.10 LSD, i'll see if i can find another one.Are you small case or medium case?

The 3.91 is a small case, but the 3.73 is a medium case. I thought you could mount either?

I do have spare small case cover, and medium case cover..

I think you have to change more than just the diff , perhaps someone who knows more about smallcases will chime in. It might matter if you have discs or drums in the rear. The reason i asked is 4.10s are more common in small case size,

I just bought an open small case 4.10 for my racecar, Im taking out the LSD 4.44

both small cases. When I get to the back of the car, I will cherck for mounting, if the 4.10 goes in ok, I will sell the 4.44 , that will give ya some pep!

I've got a 3.93 LSD in mine with the M10 and it's not under power that ratio either, I love it. I wish it had better excel but then I wouldn't get as good of mpg that I do now.

                define "slow"? lol

I have a 3.73 in mine from the stock 3.64 open. not much of a difference anyway. I'd rather be able to slide.

Due to its relativity, tt is pretty hard to express that.. lol

                  I guess, I meant is it a HUGE difference going from a 3:91 to a 3:73?

What I am getting from this thread is that is isn't and that putting a 3.73 in a M10 isn't a no no..

Thanks guys, 3.73 LSD it is!

it's a simple swap. i've used s3.73 with m10 for a while before the swap.

I am using the 3.73 as well in my car. LSD is worth the upgrade.

It isn't much slower. I actually prefer the 3.73 over the 3.91. The car is still slow either way and it's better on the highway.

it's not going to make that much of a difference. you won't be able to get sideways in anything higher than 2nd gear unless you have some serious weight transfer or the course is wet. I seriously doubt that even with a 4.10 that you'd be able to slide in 3rd.

                              I drift with a factory S3.73.

I'm sure if you're drifting with an M10 you already know about the weight transfer...
