    Vacuum Advance

    I have an M10 in an 84 318i

this car is completly converted to a DIRT car.

the throttle position tends to be wide open down the straights, then MAYBE let up on the throttle to "set" the car for the corner, or to help with the weight shift to make it around the corner, light feathering thru the corner then back on WOT without spinning the wheels.

My question is for the vacuum advance on the Dizzy. with our V8 chev stock car, the vacuum advance was removed and timing was set when the centrifgual weights were at their most outward position (usually around 21-2500 RPM)
for this fine peice of german engineering, what is the function of the vacuum advance?? could it be deleted and just set the timing to the most timing it can handle without pinging ? any and all help and ideas are MUCH appreciated

    thanks!

Maybe get an M10 mech advance only dizzy? Or pull the vac advance and get it recalibrated as mech only? I doubt just sealing the vac off on it as-is will work at all (not enough advance range).
