    Twin carbs

    Hi

I'm driving a eurospec '88 316. It's got the 90hp carburetted m10b18. I've just bought a set of twin solex 40 ADDHE carbs. Alpina mounted these on the 2002ti models. Does anyone have a similar setup? I haven't mounted mine yet. I'm wondering what to expect cause my engine is completley stock besides that. It has a higher compression then the old m10. 9,5:1 versus 8,5 in the 2002 or 9,3 in the 2002ti. The low 90hp is all due to the lousy carburetor. How much can i make with twins?

I'm also thinking of buying a header. That makes the twin carbs 'work' beter no?

A header and a cam will help the carbs work better. At 9.5 to 1, a 292 cam would be nice.

A cam is to expensive. Headers are pretty cheap though

You can have your cam reground for pretty cheap ($150ish), just need to buy oversize eccentrics (cheap). I guess you can start with the header, and throw a cam in it later.

Just noticed you are in Belgium...a cam regrind might run you a bit more
