    Car won't start (no fuel?)

So I bought a 1985 318i last weekend that had essentially been sitting since 2002. The guy I bought it from did just enough maintenance to get her running again and she was running pretty good, I believe he changed the fuel pump and the coil. Either way in the week I've had the car it's never had any trouble starting until today.

So today I drove her to go get inspected FAILURE, high beams don't work. Regardless, I go to the local Advance Auto Parts to try to fix the headlights, no dice but thats a small problem now. After playing with the fuses and relays a bit I give up and go to start the car but lo and behold it won't start.

It turns over just fine and it's got spark so I"m thinking it's not getting fuel. Since the fuel pump is new I don't think thats the problem, I'm thinking it's a relay but really I have no idea. I've worked on cars enough to be competent but i'm new to e30s and in the past I've avoided electrical problems as much as I could. I replaced all the fuses related to fuel since that was easy and they had them at the store, did no help.

Please point me in the right direction on how to trouble shoot this.

    Thanks in advance.

when you turn on the ignition can you hear the pumps?
should be an audible hum/buzz. if not, fuel pump relay.

I think I hear the pumps click on a little bzzz noise from the back of the car right when I turn on the ignition. That means it's not the fuel pump relay right? If not that what would it be? Something with the injectors or distributor?

      Thanks for your help.

all hoses connected? the hose that connects my ICV to my AFM->throttle body pops out every so often.

what relays and fuses did you play with?

fuel pump may be new but what about the fuel filter? how's your fuel pressure regulator?
