    M10 swap questions!

Okay so this might be an odd question but, I own a 1980 Toyota pickup and I'm about to pick a shell for all the drivetrain to swap under my yota. And while I'm at it I'm thinking of doing a m10 or m20 swap. Its a big project I know but i think it would be badass! If there is any help you guys could give me about suspension or drivetrain that would be awesome. I have never messed with bmw's before so i know nothing. I am also looking for the swap as I can't find one anywhere!

Am I reading this correctly? You've got a toyota truck that you're looking for a body to put your drivetrain into, but then you don't want to put the engine you have in it so you're considering an engine swap using a 100 hp or 160hp bmw engine?

He has a yota truck, and he want's to get a parts E30 to swap the engine and drivetrain into. M10 wouldn't be worth the hassle imo.

^you sir are correct. I found a shell for 250 bucks, and i really want the irs, and the opportunity to have full coilovers. Because they don't sell them at all for my truck. And I figured while I was at do an m10 or m20. Like I said in the OP I don't know very much about bimmers :D

So wait, are you trying to make a performance street truck then?

Ok, so truck body, BMW engine and rear suspension?

As far as the engine goes, is there not a 22re or 4AGE swap kit out there? Seems like you would have a lot more support for that.

go bigger in the engine. I am using the 100 HP engine cometeing against 120 HP mustangs CAUSE I HAVE TO. You want a bad ass engine. ask the guys who swap to the big valve count engines

M20 would be cool but surely a turbo 4 put of an Mr-2 would be better.

Hey, neat truck. To add to what thebutterson said, Why are you considering the m20 or m10? How much money do you plan on putting into this build?

Yea all of my thoughts are just thought right now, I have a loooong way to go on the truck and i am definitely going to go the suspension route, and i had just assumed with BMW suspension it would be easier to link the BMW motor orbit the whole equation

Forget all this jibberish, do the right thing and go 7mgte, 1jz, or 2jz. There is a write-up or 2 out there I believe.

i have a complete e36 bmw m3 and the exact sametoyota truck, and have been tossing that same swap idea around, the m3 cant be titled or registered, so i gotta part it out.

1JZ or 2JZ or SR20 motor. GO! Or go balls out and get the RB20 or RB25 ;)
I will say that is a pretty cool lookin truck. Like the stanced look its got goin on there.
