m10 help me pleas

my 318i wont rev higher than 2800rpm
i have no idea what this could be
one note it has no exhaust except the manifold on it could that be somthing
help

check the inside of the rotor button there is a little plastic thing thats supposed to keep it in place. one time mine cracked and it would only rev to 3000 or so.

Are you sure that the engine will only rev to 2800, or is that where the tach stops? There have been people that thought their engine wouldn't rev and it just turned out to be a cluster problem.

noo it shifts too quick
is it the crankk sensor
and i think im just not getting the right spark
i think i need new ignition wires or sparkplugs

These don't have crank sensors. They have a tone ring in the distributor. What do you mean it shifts to soon? Is it an automatic?

i meen i know its not the tach and that its not revving at its full potential

Probably a dizzy problem. I've had that issue before, but that was year ago & I can't remember what I did to fix it. Maybe try advancing a bit
