Is there really only 1 M10 thread worth posting in ?

I could care less if it bolt up if it isn't an improvement. Would be cool to pop my hood & see some hooker headers though. LOLLeave a comment:

Chevy truck manifolds bolt up? That's crazy, if I've ever heard it.Leave a comment:

Pierce Manifolds, Ireland Eng, Pelican and others sell the carbs & kits (incl. manifolds, linkages, tuning components, air cleaners, etc.). Most difficult part for later model M10s is the mech dizzy - since the more common tii/ti ones for the 02 spin the 'other way'. But swapping the cam to a high lift/duration 02 cam - a key match along with high compression for best use of the Webers - will enable you to run the typ. mech-only advance Bosch distributor that most run with a dual DCOEs setup.
For DIYs - maybe check on 02FAQ or the Weber Manual. Nice thing is they're fairly common on the M10 -- many Alpina 02s had em, and OEM ti setups (dual Solex) are similar enough.Leave a comment:

The 2002tii stock exhaust manifold is noted for its very good flow - better than some headers.Leave a comment:

I see a lot of talks on headers, but whatt about those who are NOT allowed too run them as per the raacing rules of the division. is there only one stock manifold? or is there a choice to pick from that would flow better then stock (Example, a manifold from an 19XX CarMaker Model bolts up and is a 1/2 inch bigger thru out??) (who would have guessed that a chevy V8 truck manifold bolts up to a BMW head!!!)Leave a comment:

the tep header drags over speed bumps. All of the 2002 based headers do. the drag in a 2002 also. There is simply not enough room under the car for them. I have tried several. The tep was my favorite. I don't run a header in my street car, because I can't stand the dragging.Leave a comment:

A 2l M10 with sidedrafts is realistically a 150 hp engine. Much over that and you start
having to spin it to where you spend real money on the valvetrain, and the drivability
suffers... a lot...
I raced one for years. It takes a LOT of money to get it to do what an S2000 motor does from the
junkyard...
even an S14 starts to look cheap.

After discovering the Paeco header, I think that may be the better way to go unless you're willing to put up big money for a stahl header or find a good deal on a used one. Same goes for the bavauto header. Unfortunately I have yet to see pictures of the Paeco header, or hear anything about their quality other than the fact that their protective coating is/was garbage.
I'm thinking the 1.5" primaries will be a bit large for a stock 1.8l putting out 100hp. Plus there are the reports of the 2002 stuff hanging low. There's also the fact that you have to run an adaptor that'll take the collector down to 2". That just doesn't sit well with me. IMO the collector should either have an outlet equal to exhaust size, or cone out to a larger size to help with scavenging. Running a 2.5" exhaust would be rediculous on an unmodified 1.8.
This is all just my opinion and speculation, I still have a lot to learn about exhaust design.Leave a comment:
