The M30 transmission is the 260/6 from 1986 on.
The 260/6 is just like the m20 260/5 transmission except it fits the M10/M30, has some stronger parts, and has fins on the bottom instead of "squares".
It's going to be the easiest to find except for maybe the g240.
The s14 has the G265 and it has many differences from the g260 such as different, harder to engage syncros, different gear ratios, removable bellhousing, and it's much more expensive.

So yeah G260/6 is my vote.

dogleg 262 CR or go home . It has less rev drop shifting 2->3rd. Ofcourse the smaller step makes downshifts 3rd->2nd easier. That said, I'd learn double de-clutching if I already hadn't.

Those boxes aren't cheap but hey, what is. And, having secured one, there are some very "race" gear sets available for it. starting at 2400 € on my side of the pond..

              What about a Getrag 265?

Also, do I need a custom driveshaft for these? Or does my stock one work.

just put a used tranny back in it. they are cheap, and plentiful. They are more than capable of holding the m10's out put. Mine has over 400k on it.
