Will M20 bolt onto 1984 318i trans?

I found a pretty good deal on a 84 318i and I was wondering if the trans in the car will bolt onto a m20 with the correct bell housing. I wasn't sure where to post this so it is in 3 places don't hate me lol

no. the m10 g240 is specific to m10, m30 pattern.

the g240 from an m42 will bolt up to an m20.
