so then why did the oil level light come on? it won't come on at 1/2.
and that screeching sound in your video? that's metal to metal 'cause no oil.

I have no idea why it came on. Is it possible the oil pump failed and wasn't circulating and combining that with 1/2 oil there just wasn't enough to go around hence the metal on metal or is that not how it works?

Half oil level isn't bad, it could be a bad oil pump. Sounds to me like it is low oil pressure(+1)

Gonna try and find a good mechanic in my area to take it to. Hopefully it wont cost me too much but i have a feelng it's going to.

Okay so here's the deal. I took it to a mechanic and he said "the two half moon shaped bearings around the camshaft slipped and bound up on each other" hence the terrible sound. Hes saying i need and entirely new engine and it'll run me between $1,000 and $3,000 which frankly i don't have so my question is what exactly are my options? Would it be possible to just rebuild the engine and replace what's broken or what? Any input would be very helpful.

You could probably buy a working M10 engine for $200-$600.
