Video: 84-85 318i idle air control system bypass

A bad IAC system can cause irregular/high idle and stalling. Since there seemed to be questions about it I made a short video. Let me know if you have any questions or comments.

So just unplug it, do the steps in your video and your good? My 85 still idles great with the IACV in it but who knows how long that will last.

Yep, I've done it on both of my 318i cars. Driven for years without any issues.
