green and blue/green wires by battery box

So I have this 85 318i that was running last weekt. Wasn't running great, but running. I replaced the plugs and took the battery out for some reason and now the car will not start. Have spark and fuel at the regulator and rail. Has me stomped. Looking around the battery area and noticed 2 wires, 1 green and 1 blue/green that are not connected to anything and look like they were ripped off of something, but what. Picture is attached. Can't find anything that they hook up to. Loctaed right where the O2 sensor wiring is, They come out of the inside of the car and should go somewhere. Hoping that this is why the car won't start. Any help is appreciated.

I have an 85 and those same wires are just hanging out on mine too. I've no idea what there for......maybe it was for the 2nd O2 sensor after the cat??

Thank you. That makes sense since there is nothing to hook them up to, but is starnge since the wires are differnt colors.
