common engine problems?

car body is almost done, havnt done anything to engine except fluids and plugs. Just wondering if there are any major failure prone parts in this engine before i start driving it? I have heard it is bulletproof, but every engine has its weak points. thanks guys, list everything you can think of please , i will be carrying my children in this car.

pretty much every hose is suspect, fuel, air, vacuum, intake.

The car will catch on fire if the fuel hoses in the engine compartment are old.

m10s like to spin #2 rod bearings

Looks like no major complaints about the engine. So just inspect the engine, lok for obvious, belts hoses etc. Not too sure about how to avoid the #2 rod bearing issue? i am still new to engines. I am going to replace all fluids in the dar this wek, figure that will help. I also am wondering why my tach wont work? Everything else in the cluster works, any ideas?

you would need to drop the subframe and hang the engine up in the engine bay or remove the engine and drop the oil pan to inspect the main and rod bearings..

oil starvation is another problem with m10s especially on hard right hand turns... make sure oil level is good and use oem filters, can add a windage tray to help with the oil issue.
