    tacos in my exhaust.

Hey I need some expert advice here. My idle is surging, I just installed a new idle control valve and this problem is still happening. I have a '85 318i. Can you guys help me out? I tried to adjust the screw on the valve and the surges just became farther apart.

I didn't post this in M10 because no one would look at it there.

What did you have to do to the cold start valve? Mine has the same problem.

thank you farbin kaiber. So since the last time I was on r3v i have been to the beach and the mountain! both were on late night runs too! I should make a thread of it. BTT replacing my ICV and my CSV, cold start valve, still didn't fix the problem. Can i get some help please.

mine does the same, but i have yet to check anything haha, it used to idle at 1800 but i de-vanced the timing using teh dist for now an set to 1000 and i have a lil back fire and when i hit 4000 rpms i loose a lil power, i think my alt. belt is slipping and i may need a new bat. I just want my car to pass smog :(

get the timing in the right spot, make sure there are definitely no vacuum leaks and run super in it. you should pass emissions then

well i allready took teh test and since im in cali its the hardest. All ready changed the o2 , spark plusg and did the timing, next up i need a california carb catlitic converter and since some BS laws passed here it has to be OBDII and thats like 250-300 bux , but i havnt tested since i did all this , ill get the cat next week and test , i only use 91 oct. for this car runs better and a lil smoother on the rpms. I'll try to post or scann the failed smogg sheet and if i pass then i post that for anyone in cali who has this problem. It didnt fail as bad as i thought it would tho. one of my past cars( 89 nissan 240sx) was a G.P. faild Meas @ 3200 and max was 1000, was just egr ,o2 and a new cat. . pased at 115 lol this m10 meas@ 1800 max is 1100, this was b4 the o2,plugs and timing re set so i hope it does pass :D
