Excelleration / Idle Problems when hot!?

So after todays Ojai drive I get home after cruising the freeway. I pull up to the red light on the exit and my idle starts freaking out on me. Stays at 1k then drops to 500 and keeps freaking. I get off the light and I can't excel for crap and the car is hesitating like someones choking it. I get home and pop the hood to check whats up. What I find is that this little box is ticking like a bomb. After it stops ticking I take it around the block and its all normal. Whats going on!?

Shine some light on what this is.

It's your main relays... take the cover off and you'll see them. Maybe one is malfunctioning?

    PS it's "acceleration"

I was thinking the same thing. Like one of my relays was toast since it was freaking out.

Sorry my brain was malfunctioning when I spell acceleration. lol

Actually I just changed all my cracked and bad hoses. I was having this hesitating problem before, but when I changed my fuel pump and hoses it temporarily fixed it.

the main relay for the m10 is under the steering wheel/dash area.

under the cap should be fuel pump relay with some others that escape me at the moment...
          ?

Well if it's the fuel pump relay, that may be your problem. I'd replace the FPR and filter while you're at it too.

Filter was replaced a few months ago so I'll get my hands on a FPR. Thanks!
