81 and 83 heads

Are they interchangable? I have an "83" head on my 318i and have an extra "81" head. It looks the same with the exception of extra fuel injector holes on the 81 head near the intake manifold but they are closed... but I don't know if the combustion chambers are the same?

Anybody knows for sure if they are the same or not?

If they both have a "1.8i" casting I'm pretty sure the chambers are the same.
