    Question about Oil Pan Gasket

So my car is leaking oil bad- more than 1 quart a month, enough to trigger my engine oil light more frequently than I'd like. My mechanic wants to pull the oil pan and and replace the gasket, as well as the gasket in the oil filter housing. I've searched and the pan gasket seems to be a pretty common place for leaks... is there anywhere else/ any other gaskets/seals I should be replacing while he's doing this? And since he has to hoist the engine up (from my understanding), should I be replacing the engine mounts etc.?

Car is an 87 325iS... Thanks in advance for your help.

Yeah, do the engine mounts at the same time. It won't take him much, if any, longer to do them.

There are tons of other seals, but the only one that makes any sense to do while he is doing the pan is the oil level sensor gasket. Oh, and there are also special little O rings in the oil cooler lines that he might need. I suppose you can take the oil filter adapter off without taking those lines off though.

Thanks for the heads up - fyi the car has about 258,XXX miles so I figure it's about time to switch out the mounts. I just picked up the car 2 months ago...

In terms of motor mounts which ones should I be looking at? OEM BMW ones seem to run about 100~, I can get a pair of super cheap ones off pelican auto for 20~ (meistersatz?), and ireland engineering urethane ones run about 90~. I'm just concerned the IE ones are going to be too rough for a stock, daily driver.

      What do you guys think?
