Oil sandwich plate and filter relocation issues

    Hey R3v.

Was being proactive with my shotty setup for an oil filter relocation setup. I started out with the original kit from Ka motors. This kit was well put together and I didn't have any issues with it. The issue presented myself when I revisited the clearance of the elbow 90 degree fittings coming straight out of the adapter piece on the block that was a c hair away from my turbo manifold (ebay manifold so spare me)

Sketchy enough to the point where they were touching and the aluminum elbow fitting looked like it was wearing away and I wasn't about to let it wear to the point where it would spring a leak and spray oil on my incredibly hot turbo manifold. KA tried to help with supplying me some of the newer low profile elbows to work with his block adapter but it just won't work. No fault of his and big props for trying to help me out but I think the only safe way to make this work is if the ports come out the side of the adapter plate and not straight out.

I found this setup that may work but was wondering if anyone else is running a similar setup.

Not 100% that the above will work but it seems like it will with the right port adapters for the rest of the components from the setup.

    Some pics of my woes

Was looking for some feedback from other setups.

    Thanks in advance!

Unsure how committed you are to your current set up, but I'm considering doing something similar to accommodate aftermarket headers.

Not sold on which direction I'll go, but this seems to work for at least one E30 owner and provides a nice low-profile connection at the filter port:

Example install (see half-way down page): https://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/s...ne-swap/page17

This seems like a pretty good option and a little more affordable than the item I posted. This is what I am looking for. I guess I just wanted to find what some other people were running. I'm not currently running a cooler so it's just to a remote filter and that has worked fine with Temps.

I will probably post my original adapter for sale as nothing is wrong with it and I'm sure works great for majority of setups. Mine just won't clear my manifold setup and currently I'm over $200 in to adapters and fittings lol
