Hey guys, been dealing with unstable idle since I've gotten the car.
Figured out the issue today!
I had tracked down all the vacuum leaks using a smoke machine. Still had an idle that would just rev up and down. I unplugged and capped the engine vacuum hose to take the engine out of the equation. Still unsteady idle.
Today I noticed that the wires for the idle air control valve were bare inside of the plastic connector. They were Twisted together and touching. I un Twisted the wires and plugged it back in and I have a perfectly steady idle now!!!
Many people say changing the harness fixed their issue. Maybe this is the way to fix it for people who are at their wit's end!
a simple test to see if this is your issue, is to pull the connector off of the iac a little bit and touch the two connectors together. This did not harm anyting on my car, and replicated the unsteady idle exactly. I am completely stoked!!!
Happy motoring!!!
