    1989 325i oil filter/cheap ebay headers/keeping A/C tech and oil cooler tip...

Good morning, folks. My name is Dave and I'm new here. I thought I'd post what we did to my sons car to make oil filter access (somewhat) easy with cheap ebay headers, while keeping the oil cooler and A/C.
Contrary to what I read, it is possible to keep the A/C in place and rotate the housing so that the oil filter points to roughly a 2 o'clock position. This makes filter removal easy with a strap wrench from the top under hood.

It was necessary to swap the cooler line position in the adapter, but this means the oil simply gets looped through the cooler in the opposite direction. The cooler has no check valves, so it doesn't care...

The whole process including heating and loosening a seized line nut, and re-o-ringing the adapter took less than an hour, and keeps all OEM stuff functional.

Please see pics, and I hope this helps somebody.
