sorry don't know the terms but after I take a drive there is a small amount of gas that is in the compartment where you fill the tank, where the gas cap is. I have attached pictures. Anybody know why this is happening. Makes the inside of the car smell like gas. thanks

Remove the rear wheel, then remove the plastic splash shield and you'll find the fuel expansion tank (Item #1) and related hoses. You will probably find cracked hoses in that area. The fuel cap appears to be sealing looking at how clean the top of the filler neck appears in your picture.
