    Part list for engine rebuild

    Hi Guys,

Sad day for me...I bought everything to do a timing belt this weekend. Of course, the belt snapped today. I am sure that the valves are gone and the head needs to be machined. I am planning on freshening the engine since I have access to a shop and the engine can be removed. I am sure someone has posted a part list somewhere here that I need to purchase to do this repair, but I have not been able to locate it. Does someone have it handy and repost it here?

    Much appreciated!

    timing belt kit
    water pump
    cap/rotor/plugs
    coolant temp sensors, oxygen sensor
    Elring/Goetze head gasket set
    head bolt set
    oil pan gasket
every cooling hose - upper/lower radiator, bypass hose, water pump hose, thermostat to heater core hose, heater core to cyl head hose, both throttle body hoses
    radiator
    expansion tank/cap/level sensor
    thermostat
fuel hoses - i like the OE 8mm BMW hose
    air mass meter boot
    fuel filter
    oil filter
    air filter
    primary/ps/air con drive belts
    crank position sensor
    motor oil
maybe send your injectors out for servicing

it's been a long day for me and i'm sure i've missed a few things, but this should cover the majority. obviously, not all of it is necessary, but your own labor is free and i like to make life easier for myself... it's what i'd do if it were my car.

i would buy everything genuine BMW or quality aftermarket.

and if you do end up pulling the engine for this job, you may as well do a clutch job while you're there...and everything else that comes along with that.

Thanks, Austin! Pretty much what I have in mind. I just want to make sure that I did not forget anything.
