HD motor mount alternatives (11811132322 vs 11811132793, others?)

I hear a lot of people use E21/E24/E28 motor mounts (11811132322) as beefier but OEM/non-poly alternatives to the original M20 mounts but those are pricey and thin on the ground these days for some reason. I see the later E24/E28 motor mounts (11811132793) are much more easily had, but are fairly differently shaped. Would they still fit an E30 with an M20, or would there be some sort of interference in fitment or something? I also see a lot of people use the 793s for 24 valve swaps, so that gives me pause. I just don't want to waste a hundred bucks only to find out they don't fit. Has anybody given it a shot? I'm not really keen on using poly mounts on a street car either.

    Wide open to suggestions.

I just got shipping status today for E21 trans mounts (23711109173) from my local BMW parts department. I paid full price but I couldn’t find any alternatives available when I was shopping. Of course, prompted by your post, I looked again and FCP seems to have them for a decent price.

I appreciate the reply, but I’m good on transmission mounts. The Rogue ones for the e46 also work for the e30 with the 260. It’s motor mounts in particular I’m talking about, and 200/set is a bit steep and the only place that has them in stock right now seems to be Bimmerworld - no shade to them but for that kind of money I’d rather get it from FCP for the lifetime replacements.
