    spark plug wire question

    what is that round sensor on the spark plug wire?? do i really need it for the car to run right??

    nah, just fucking with you. That is (fucking DUH, obvious shit here) a spark sensor, tells the DME when the plug is firing, so it knows the crank position sensor is OK.

    Yeah, it is pretty necessary.

    So, since you asked a retarded question, I am gonna ask one back: Why?

      ohhh cause i found these spark plug wires off a 528e laying around and i wanted to see if it could fit it on my car.

        they'll fit and work but technicly the car will run better with the sensor

          That sensor provided the Cylinder ID signal, which is used by the DME to time firing of each injector bank. Without that signal the DME reverts to firing both injector banks at the same time. The car will run okay that way, but gas mileage will suffer and the engine will run a bit rich.
          The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
