M20 Engine with Steel Water Journal?

What do I have?
I traded a car for an Engine it is sub post to only have 78K and be an 89 - I motor???. It has an Oil Cooler attached to the lower passengers side block area and it has an ''I'' Head.

The strange thing is it has an E Motor Water Pump and Thermostat Housing and it has this Strange Steel Water Journal cross over in front of the timing belt for the radiator hose configuration. Would some one please explain Why is this? I have never seen one of these before and would like to know why this set up is like this.

if you are talking about the steel hose that is behind the clutch fan... then you need to.. get a bentley. Every m20 has it.

And another fun fact on that water pipe - have you seen the price of that pipe new... > $200.00
