Replacing radiator... I show you carnage, and you help me fix it

This is what happens when your radiator is not mounted properly...

All of the coolant leaked out of the radiator, and now i am replacing it. Don't worry, the car did not overheat. But the coolant did come out all at once because a friend of mine did a hard launch. Little did we know, my radiator was not mounted on anything at the bottom!

here is a pic of the parts diagram. My engine bay does not have part #6 or #7. These appear to be the "holders" that keep the radiator from moving.

Here are pics of the little "shelves" on my car where said brackets are supposed to be. I think the hole is what keeps the shelf lined up (circled in red).

You can see in the second pic, I have circled in green the piece of wire that I believe the previous owner tried to use to hold the radiator in place. Pathetic.

Here is a pic of the new rubber buffer on the replacement radiator.

So all I really need to know is, am I correct that I just need these two brackets and my radiator will be held in place? Do I need any sort of screws to hold them in place, or do they just have plastic studs to line them up in the holes? I figure the upper bracket and the weight of the radiator would hold the bracket in its place.

      hey! thats my radiator! :)

two brackets for the radiator to sit on (I believe that just wedge in, and the down force from the raditor keep the brackets from moving.) , and the two bushing you already installed. Drop it in, and the top thing clamps down and that's it.

I would install fan and clutch first, and then put the cowl over the fan and let it dangle and put the radiator in, and bolt down, then clip on the cowl to the radiator.

      jsut a thought.

        yes, it's quite a sexy radiator :)

And I won't have to install the fan/clutch, because i never removed them.

I just hope my local dealer has these mounting brackets in stock; the car is on jackstands and in my housemate's parking spot...

you should ahve asked me. I didnt know you were missing those. I would have throw it in with the radiator if I knew you needed it. Given that I had to pull out my parts bin to find it, but still.

are you sure it was the radiator moving and not the engine?

                How are your motor mounts????
