    Some of the video sequences show them filling an M42 with oil. Weird.

    I agree there probably weren't enough start/stop cycles. Looks like they tried to simulate highway loads at 85 mph for parts of the test. That's a decent amount of load.

      They are using whats called Stock Footage because the focus is on pouring of oil, not the engine and there is no M42 in the video unless its near the end. Whatever that car was near the beginning, its engine is installed in transverse position so its not BMW (intake looks japanese.)

          I have used Mobil 1 synthetic for years. I had a Honda Accord that was totaled with over a 181,000 miles and the engine was still running strong. The engine had never had anything done to it other than a timing belt at 102,000. It would have been interesting to pull that engine apart to measure everything. I know that engine would have lasted at least another 100,000. Someone got a a good engine after the car was sold at the salvage auction.

            Yup, you're right. Good catch. It's sideways. I had to pause the video to catch it in time.
