Ok so its not as bad when you first start it up cold. Once you drive it and it gets hot the car shakes when at an idle and you can hear in the exhaust, as if it misfiring? Idk where to start? Help plugs are new. HELP?!! Idk where all the vacuum hose run if its a leak. Maybe valve adjustment? PLug wires? Just please tell me what i should do?

The first action would be to search for and fix any intake leaks. Follow that with new ignition wires, distributor cap & rotor, and new plugs. Then adjust the valves.The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

I just purchased an almost mint 84 325e with 129k on it and it acts similar. Cold start and running are nearly flawless for a 25 yr old car! Once it goes into closed loop the idle starts to fluctuate 100-300 RPM rhythmically. If you listen to the exhaust you can hear popping in sync with the fluctuation. On one of the last services the shop replaced the temp sensor, O2 sensor, and I just put in new plugs. It also passed CA smog with flying colours. The wires don't look stock. The shop advised the prior owners that the valves should be adjusted. I don't hear any valvetrain noise as compared to my old M10 318i. Maybe they are set too tight? The part throttle acceleration doesn't seem that linear especially near 3K, WOT is excellent. I checked with TB cleaner all over the engine for vacuum leaks.

Idle fluctuations are probably from a sticky ICV.The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
