    almost overheat engine probs

Alright well a few weeks back the water pump/alternator belt snapped. This caused the car to get almost into the red section of the temp gauge. I think I caught it anyway. Two days ago i got the parts I needed replaced them, and then took my normal test drive. I got back had a bit of coolant leaking but otherwise everything seemed fine.

I found the coolant leak today and fixed that. Turns out that I had forgotten to tighten up a coolant hose. No big deal. I fix this then go to start the car. I hear a lot of metal on metal sounds. The engine doens't appear to be spinning freely at all. The engine is shaking pretty bad.

I have a kit to do a compression test I suppose that might help, but I'm looking for ideas

What could be the potential problem? I don't really understand why it would have been fine two days ago and now this.

well I feel like an asshole. The ICV wasn't plugged into the throttle body. Problem solved. Good lord did it sound awful without that plugged in.
