I have been trying to figure out why my 87 325 idles like a race car, and lacks power below 3K RPM since I bought it a year ago. I have replaced all the normal stuff: plugs, cap, rotor, wires, coil, all vacuum lines, both fuel pumps and filter, FPR, ICV, ICV module, cleaned injectors with new o-rings to no avail. Valves have been adjusted several times with little change and the AFM circuit board has been cleaned but the poor running/idle continues. So, today I did a vacuum and compression check. Vacuum was 19-21" at idle and smooth and rising at higher revs. Compression, 1-6 as follows: 120/155/160/120/170/190psig. These results are a little unnerving. Low I could understand, but way high??
Anyways, I see a rebuilt head in my future.
What do you guys think?
