Help figure WTF wrong

BLAH so another problem has poked it's ugly head with my 85 m20. I go to start the car after putting on newer control arms from an 88 and axle, intake manifold gasket, thermostat housing gasket, and cold start valve and it doesn't even flinch......

All power works when I turn the key but when i go to start it the fuel pump starts spraying and there is no starter turning. All the car does is just sit there and run the fuel pump that sounds like its just spraying into an abyss.

here is a video of what i'm talking about.

How do you know which one goes where? On the swap i just did there is no specific one that shows it has to go in a specific place.
