Replaced alternator and battery.. Connection problem??

So i just replaced the alternator and battery do to the car loosing power and assumed it was the alternator not charging the batt. I replaced both and all was good.

Then i'm enjoying the scenery in Hawaii and the radio and gauges die but the car is still running. I pull over and shut it off thinking that'll do it. No it's never that simple now is it..lol

    Long story short
-the new battery is already drained
-car wont start w/o a jump
-run's for about a 1/4 mile then dies out but upon start up motor is running but accessories and gauges are off

Connection somewhere? Or is some mysterious creature draining my battery:loco:

    Are all your connections connected?

Does your alternator look like this? Made sure the ground wire (brown) is connected to the small hex nut. Please confirm.

The alternator i got was a cheapo from Checker's. I didn't think twice that it could be the new radiator. Could it be???

What did that come out of, looks like a Motorola alternator?
