What not to do about a bad C191

If you are faced with a bad C191 connector, resist the temptation to splice the wires. If you do that you can't get the manifold (or head) off without cutting the splice. The proper fix is to splice in one or both ends of a C191. If I could find the ignorant fool that did that, I'd send a plague of Kalahari sand flies his way.

PS, If you loose one or more of the nuts that hold the manifold on, don't mix and match different sizes. The next person that has to remove the intake won't have any good things to say about you. If you don't have any 12mm nuts, replace all of them with the same size nut. By all means don't have some 12mm, some 13mm, and a 14mm nut holding the manifold on.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

I've only removed one intake manifold before but it too had a mixture of 12 and 13mm nuts. What a freakin annoyance. haha

Out of 3 different e30's i've disconnected the exhaust from the manifolds on, ALL of them had a mix matched combination of 13, 14, and 15 mm nuts.

Yep, I pulled the engine from the new car. The race built engine is ready to go in.

I would greatly prefer people just leaving a car alone than to mess with it. Reversing people's handiwork is often far more time consuming than dealing with a problem that crops up on an unmolested car.
