    drive shaft removal

    trying to remove the drive shaft from the transmission, but the drive shaft has a larger diamator with a reducer right befor the transmission. There are 3 bolts holding it to a balancer, what is the easiest way to remove the 3 bolts? I cant fit a socket in there because of the large diamator of the drive shaft.

    Yes you can. But instead of a socket wrench you need to use a breaker bar. The only bolts you can remove with the driveshaft in are the ones that attach the dampener to the transmission flange and you can get an open end wrench on those nuts.
    The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

      I did this on the weekend - 17mm socket with short extension and a breaker bar on one side, with a large 17mm spanner on the nut on the other (gearbox) side.

      Hold the spanner with your weaker hand and crank the breaker with your stronger arm - should hear a liberating "cracK" as the seal is broken. After a good turn on the bar, you should be able to undo it by hand, holding the nut at the back with the spanner.

        yep then just do the same on the diff side and undue the middle part underneath the heat shielding and your good to go
