swapping a i engine in a e car

I looked around and didn't see anything written up, so if there is something.. sorry in advance.

My friend has a 87 325e and was given and 89 325i m20 with wiring harness. Is this swap pretty easy or are we going to have to splice in wires under the dash?
I was hoping we could just swap wiring harness's, engine's and be done.

Some modifications to the 89 harness will be required to adapt it to the 87 chassis wiring. I think I've posted the details, so try a search.

You will also need the AFM and DME from an M20B25 engined car.

why dont you do a 2.7i

an easy search of M20 2.5 swap or 2.7i swap in goggle would have given you the info you needed.
