help removing crank

so i guess there is a 302ftlb bolt that needs to come out so that i can take the crank out from the block any tips on getting it loose

you mean the front hub bolt holding the harmonic balancer on? is the engine still in the car?

no the engine is out, well i am trying to get the crank gear and that front cover off i am guessing that the bolt on the crank snout needs to come off but i dont have an impact gun

should i snap a pic of what i am talking about?

take a prybar/breaker bar and jam it between crank and block. it's easy, or get a good impact wrench.
