    Noob Head question

Ok, I recently found oil in my coolant and determined that my HG was blown. I pulled the head and found a nice hairline crack so maybe that's where my oil was going. My friend found a 885 head in the junkyard and I checked it out it at least didn't have any visible cracks so I bought it. I know that doesn't mean that its perfect.

Anyway, I know that it is going to need to be resurfaced and pressure tested but am I going to have to take the head all apart to bring it to the machine shop? or can I drop it by with everything in it? Also, while its there, what else should be done? I am not exactly looking to spend a fortune I just want the car to run well.

If I do need to or you guys recommend that I take the head apart, what tools will I need to perform this. I am pretty competent I just have never taken a head apart before and I want to make sure that i do it right.

Thanks for taking the time to help out and being patient with my n00bi5h head questions.

if you take it apart, it will cost less because they won't spend the time to do it for you. You can go to any auto parts store and say "I need to take apart a head" and they'll show you exactly the tools you need.

Have you made a purchase from www.blunttech.com recently?
