Over heating problems: Aux fan solution?

    Well.

Just a little background to clear anything up.

---Bought the car 3 weeks ago.
---1 week after owning starting to run 3/4 temps and sometimes even higher while at idle
---Had some leaks from housing due to badly corroded.
---Tested fan clutch with newspaper ( also at idle ill sit at 2k RPMs and it will cool engine
    ---Replaced with BRAND NEW STUFF:
    -71 degree thermostat
-New Thermostat housing ( both pieces? Water outlet?)
    -Water pump to thermostat hose

I did all that work today. I bled the system afterwords. There was literally no air? Coolant immediately poured out.

It now runs much cooler while driving. But at idle it still creeps up to 3/4 mark. Every hose feels hot and pressurized. Rechecked fan still blew fine.

Sorry for the long post but i thought it was needed.

    THE QUESTION I HAVE IS....

After doing all that i decided maybe i can just run aux fan at all times? Is that possible without creating a in cabin switch? I tried searching for it but found nothing.

    Thanks,
    Ben

The previous owner of my car had a same overheating problem. He wired a fan relay switch that would let the fan run when the key was in the 'on' position. He said he bought it at kragens auto parts. But at idle the car would still get 3/4 temp.

When I got my hands on the car, I replaced the fan clutch, themostat, water pump and car hasn't pass the 1/2 point since.

Adding fans is not how you fix things.

Fixing the problem(s) is how you fix things.

There doesnt seem to be a "problem" that i can find. Water pump was about 8 months ago and radiator 2 years ago. Everything else seems to be testing fine.....

I read somewhere that a valve adjustment can fix overheating. So I was simply seeing if there was a way i could put a temporary fix till i get around to doing my valves.

        Thanks for the input though...

The aux fan might keep the temp down, but using it doesn't fix the problem. based on the evidence submitted, I'd suspect a bad fan clutch or a partially plugged radiator.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

But with a bad fan clutch. AT IDLE shouldnt the temp rise rather than fall when i raise the rpms??? Cause when i raise the rpms it cools down quite quickly.

seems like something is plugging the radiator. when your motor is at higher rpms the pump will keep the coolent flowing, when you hit idel the rpms slow and a clot or plug in the radiator would slow the coolentent moving throught the radiator and raise the temp.
