87 eta how do i delete lp fuel pump?

i have the 87 eta with the two pumps, can i just stick the walbro in the tank and then bypass the external pump? and if so what do i do with the wires going to the old pump? i think my external pump is the bad one cause it wines, but i heard that can be cause by it being clogged, please help

This can be done, but it is a real kludge. It is better to stick to the OE arrangement or swap tanks to the later variety that uses only the in-tank pump.
