Got the head back on and numerous mechanical issues addressed. Engine seems to run well except for an occasional stall when warm. When you punch it at a left turn or when the light turns green is when it stalls. Accelerate gradually and there seems to be no problem. I know the causes could be many. Any suggestions what to look at first.

first look for a vac leak, then your fuel pressure, then your AFM, then the TPSOriginally posted by Beej '86 325esevery time an M-tech 1 spoiler is destroyed, a baby seal dies.87 325:83 jetta coupe:99 volvo c70:99 volvo s70Originally posted by JparkrThe last thing we need are more of the retards on here thinking they are engineers too.

Occasional stalling continued
How do you find vacuum leaks? How do you test the the fuel pressure? Thought about the electrical aspects of the AFM and th TPS. The AFM appears to be sealed? What about the TPS. These are simple potentiometers and I assume the contacts get dirty or deteriorated? Is this waht should be looked at?

spray the vac lines with wd40 or carb cleaner, if it bubbles you have a vac leak there. the fuel pressure, take the line off the end of the FPR and if it has fuel come out when the car is turned over then your gonna need a fuel pressure tester to see if its working or not, if no gas comes out then this is the problem. the AFM can go bad and still seem to work, opening and closing in line with the intake but, if its misreading the amount of air coming it then it can cause problems. the TPS you'll need a mulimeter to test.Originally posted by Beej '86 325esevery time an M-tech 1 spoiler is destroyed, a baby seal dies.87 325:83 jetta coupe:99 volvo c70:99 volvo s70Originally posted by JparkrThe last thing we need are more of the retards on here thinking they are engineers too.
