    oil filter relocation

If I could change something about my m20 it would be the location of the oil filter. Are any of you guys running a relocated oil filter? If so are you using the cartrige style or still utilizing the spin on filter? Pics would be great too.... Thanks

there was a guy that was making adapters for m30b35's i would guess the same concept would work for the m20's it would def make things easier. Less burn knuckles for you m20 guys

Just turn it. I haven't done it, but supposedly it makes a hell of a difference.

Whats wrong with the oil filter location?

I just changed the oil in my girlfriend's 95 Thunderbird and it made me love my m20 Oil Filter!

Seriously there are some really messed up oil filter locations on some engines out there.
West German BMWs, they just don't make the same as they did before the wall fell.
^Case in point: Auto-Repair Technology. Everytime my car isn't starting or acting up I let it sit, sometimes for an hour, sometimes for days. But it eventually fixes itself.

Yeah, it's not worth changing in my opinion. To do it right and integrate the oil cooler as it should be is a hassle.

You obviously don't have big hands, then. I do and I've been burned too many times from the M20.

The M20 filter makes me love my 350 filter. I only use K&N filters on the Nova, and they have a nut welded to the bottom, so all I have to do is get a socket and put it on the bottom of the filter and it comes off in 30 seconds. :D:D:D

I don't have pics, but I pulled out the stock oil cooler body and oil cooler. Replaced it with a spin-on adapter, remote oil filter housing (mounted on the left front frame rail), and B&M oil cooler (mounted in front of the rad). Everything is connected by braided steel hoses and Aeroquip fittings.

Once you switch to a remote oil filter housing, you have the option of choosing which filter you'd like to run. I chose one designed for Chevy trucks. That lets me use the big Fram HP4 Racing filter.

You can find everything you need at Summit Racing. Installation s simple if you have some basic fabrication skills and appropriate tools. I had my install done by the race shop I use: DENT Sport Garage in Norwood, MA.
