    Over heating

I just installed a new water pump, I style fan clutch/fan. and timing belt. It runs way better but is still hitting the mark after half way on the temp gauge. Fresh coolant and i burped the system correctly. The car was ran hot a few times prior to doing this work. No sign of coolant in the oil. The head is really dry. I am narrowing it down to thermostat failure. Any ideas?

    Thanks.

Update, i replaced the thermostat today and added water wetter to the cooling system. It is still overheating. Still no sign of coolant in my oil although water is coming out of my exhaust muffler. Drips and mists out, simi white smoke once in a while when reved. Seems to me like its burning water although i don't drive it long enough to notice coolant levels draining. Seems to run fair, not really any signs of power loss, kind of a rough idel at times when hot. Possible sensor fail? Cracked head on the exhaust side sucking in water? Please help.

If there is water in the exhaust, and it not just condinsation or combution by-products, then it sounds like a cracked head

as long as the temp gauge stays out of the red, drive it around to warm the exhaust all the way up to eleminate the possability that there is just a puddle of water in your muffler

When you hit the gas white smoke often comes out. The muffler drips, drips then mists when reved hard, then drips. If you put your hand in front of it while reving it will get wet. Upon head inspection i see that it is very DRY, not even any oil around the head, block is clean. NO signs of coolant in the oil. It just sucks because this is my daily, and this head is ridiculiously clean inside. My friend said if this head is cracked, i can have his seta head off his 1985 motor because i have no time, to take the head in and have it magnafluxed/fixed. Would this be be an up grade performance wise?

        Very bummed about this :(

Park aiming up hill or on jack stands, push down any radiator hoses that are sitting higher than your bleeder screw and bleed it again, maybe a couple times.
