I already have the "i" ecu. I still need to decide on a chip, but before that, I need to see how I like the stock "i" injectors. I don't want to get a chip and THEN decide to upgrade injectors.

The i head has blue injectors. Mine are off-white.

          Same flow rate in both?

I think I have an easy solution...

I will swap a cam and double valve springs into my current motor, do all of the (timing and accessory) belts, WP, T-stat, seals, etc. I will save my HG and head bolts and a few other parts and run this motor as it is for a while while I source a proper M20B25 to actually rebuild.

In the mean time, i can drive this car with new suspension, wheels, tires, diff, etc., and learn the handling.

I doubt that I woudl have much time (if any) next year to really participate in SpecE30. I have a baby due (our second) in 35 days. Somethign tells me that both wrench AND track time may be in short supply for a while. I hope to get in a lot of driver ed events next year. Having Summit Point so close makes it an easy (easier?) sell with my wife, as there are no real travel costs involved.

With this route, I own't have a ton of $$ in the top end of the motor. If I see any issues with the head, I can always swap in my spare head.

I know it is not the best way to do it, but it gets the hood closed and gets me on the road sooner.

anything that gets you on the track and driving instead of wrenching.. you can always source a complete i motor and rebuild next year if your going spec e30.

That is what I am hoping to do. With this motor complete and running, I can always sell it (or part it out).

I may have found some old-school Fittipaldi 15x7s ET26. Keeping my fingers crossed.

We need a LOT more info than that. What are you STARTING with?

If it is your 86 Eta, you need domed pistons. Do a search in here with the term "stroker" for more info.
