Ok, the car has never overheated before on its own, except for that one time I stupidly forgot to put the coolant tank cap back on and then went for a drive and the needle only went to the 3/4 line until I shut the car off. Anyways, a few days ago I noticed the needle started to find a new residence that was past the half way mark, just barely though. I took it to the mechanic and we found out the fan clutch was shot. I got that replaced but the needle still goes past the middle line. It seems that the needle climbs a little further everyday, like the problem is slowly getting worse. Today the needle was almost at the 3/4 line and I had to turn the heater on high while ON the freeway just to bring it back down to the middle line. Just a few days ago, the car would stay right in the middle while on the freeway without the heater and only needed it on at stop lights. Its getting worse! What do you guys think is happening and what should I replace? The heater still blows really hot so I do not think there is air in the system. Thanks guys!
