    water pump difference

i recently got a timing belt kit and the waterpump that was included is different than the one that is on my engine. I have an 89 m20 swapped into my 84 318i and the water pump has 2 inlets opposed to just one like the replacement has. Can i make this work or will i need to order another? thanks for the help

There are 2 versions of M20 water pumps. 84-87 and 88+.

You need to swap yours for the other version.

I think that was only an issue with the e36/m50
