so wait. you want to take a 2.5L or 2.7L and down it to a 2.0L??? unless you have an e12 or e21 m20 witch was 2.0L but why put a smaller motor in an e30? or are you just posting on an e30 site with an unrelated question? im confused. why not get a 4cyl rather then a 6cyl??? inline 6 is seen to be "lazy" and you would have much better luck getting a high rev out of a inline 4 or a V6 or V8. and again, why are you downing your engine? plus isnt the hp and tq of these drop off around 6k anyway? so the point in reving to 9k is what? I may just be a wee bit confused in your thinking.

These springs are impractical in anything other than a short life drag race engine as they have a very short life span (10-20 1/4 mile passes). So if your heart is set on titanium valve springs then buy lots of them because you'll be changing them after every trip to the grocery store.

Titanium valve spring retainers are bad to use as is, they have cracked on a couple engine ive seen them on just from daily use, there great, but brittle. They dont have the give that steel does. I couldnt see why anyone building a motor they would drive on the street would use titanium in anything that was being compressed or slide againest. (I know titanium connecting rods are great but those are connected to the crank and pistons and dont have the same wear and loads as springs)
