gasoline sludge on AFM

what's causing this and my very rough idle. Am i running to rich? and smoke has a very strong smell

The sludge on the AFM is most likely to be from oil the intake mixed with dirt that made it through the filter.

There are a bunch of possible causes of a rough idle, but intake leaks and/or fuel delivery problems top the list.
